COVID-19 Info for Environmental Health Services
The Jefferson County Department of Environmental Health would like to thank its patrons for being patient during this trying time in public health. We are continuing to serve our patrons by conducting contactless permit renewal payments by online methods (where applicable). We will also be accepting payments for new and renewal permits by check or money order to:

In addition to these methods to serve our customers, starting October 8th we will re-open in person visits for the following services:
- Onsite Sewage Disposal (new applications, repairs and subdivisions)
- Swimming Pool applications
- Body Art permits (facilities and artists)
- Community Sanitation (rabies exposures)
- Food and Lodging Permits (new, renewals, and change of ownership)
- Food and Lodging Submission of plans
- Childcare centers (new, renewals, and change of ownership)
General community complaints can be submitted by phone to (205) 930-1230 or email to community@jcdh.org. Food complaints can be phoned in to (205) 930-1260. No in person complaints will be handled at this time.
All issues regarding Air emissions, Title V payments, Synthetic minor or air pollution source payments, tanning bed fees, radiological fees, or general air pollution issues or complaints should call (205) 930-1276 for more information.
