Immunization

Active immunization involves administration of all or part of a microorganism or a modified product of that microorganism to evoke an immunologic response mimicking that of natural infection but that usually presents little or not risk to the recipient.

Childhood immunizations are offered at all four Jefferson County Department of Health clinics. These are provided at nominal cost. Adult immunizations are offered only at the Specialty Clinic at Central Health Center.
