Certified Food Safety Manager

Food Safety Manager Certification

see also Foodhandler Classes

The Rules of the Alabama State Board of Health, Bureau of Environmental Services, for Food Establishment Sanitation require food management roles to demonstrate knowledge and skills to uphold food safety standards, prevent foodborne illnesses, and protect public health by obtaining a Food Protection Manager Certification.

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Examination is the certification offered at the Health Department.

A Certified Food Safety Manager Application may be downloaded, printed, and completed, but must be submitted in person at the Health Department for processing. Payment is due at registration, at which time, the study materials will be provided. Study materials are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean.

All rescheduled exams must occur within two months. To maintain the integrity of the scheduling process, rescheduling is limited to two times. If more than two rescheduling attempts are made, the requester may only choose from the eleven other vendors. This policy ensures that food establishments remain accountable and committed to upholding food safety standards.
