WIC (Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, & Children)

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC) is a nutrition program. WIC helps to improve the health of women, infants, and children by providing nutrition education, nutritious foods, and referrals for health care.

WIC Goal

To improve the health and nutritional status of low income Women, Infants, and Children during critical times of growth and development and to increase participants knowledge of the relationship between proper nutrition and good health while providing specific supplemental foods.

Breastfeeding and WIC

Mothers participating in the WIC program are encouraged to breastfeed whenever possible. Therefore, to support and promote breastfeeding, the WIC program provides prenatal breastfeeding education and support. For more information about breastfeeding click here.

Who is Eligible for WIC?
To be eligible, you must be:

  • A pregnant woman
  • A woman who just had a baby
  • A breastfeeding woman
  • An infant or child under 5 years old

WIC Certification and Re-certification Appointment

    • Proof of identification, residence and income is required at each WIC certification and re-certification appointment
    • Identification, Residence and Income Proofs must be Current and Valid
    • Patient must be presence at certification and recertification
    • Please bring the following:

Identification: (for the caretaker and person applying for WIC)

  • Driver’s License
  • Work or School ID
  • Birth Certificate
  • Hospital Birth Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Medicaid Card
  • Military ID
  • U.S. Passport

Residence: (must include street address)

  • Water Bill
  • Electric Bill
  • Gas Bill
  • Telephone Bill
  • Cable Bill
  • Rental Agreement
  • Bank statement

Income: (must bring for all household members)

  • Medicaid Card
  • TANF or Food Stamp Eligibility Notice (Letter)
  • Pay Stubs
  • Tax Return
  • Letter from Employer
