Indoor Air Pollution

Private Residences

The Jefferson County Department of Health Air Pollution Control Program provides the public access to information about indoor environmental quality problems. The information available includes the actions that may be taken to reduce exposures to indoor air pollutants as well as information regarding the possible adverse health effects of exposure.

Schools

The Air Pollution Control Program works with schools to bring about implementation of the IAQ Tools for Schools guidance kit for improved indoor air quality. The program also provides miscellaneous training and outreach materials for schools.

Commercial Buildings

Commercial building owners and managers of office buildings are encouraged to adopt practices of sound indoor air quality management found in the "Building Air Quality Guide" and its companion, "Building Air Quality Action Plan".
