Emergency Preparedness and Response Program
The Emergency Preparedness and Response division’s primary focus is to promote,
educate, serve as a resource, and collaborate with other organizations in an all-hazards
approach to emergencies within Jefferson County.
-
Our emergency preparedness staff promotes an all hazards approach to being
prepared for all types of emergencies, including natural and man-made
disasters, hazardous material exposure, and injury and disease prevention
within Jefferson County.
-
We focus on educating the general public on developing and exercising
safety plans and creating emergency supply kits through various outreach
events, media outlets and material distribution.
-
We serve as a resource for public health partners such as hospitals, schools,
civic groups, and businesses for preparedness trainings, educational materials
and presentations.
-
We collaborate with organizations to raise the public’s awareness of potential
emergencies, advantages of being prepared, and the expectations of local
response.
